Rob McCarthy

Rob joined Dow Schofield Watts Transaction Services LLP as a Partner in August 2014 and heads up the financial due diligence practice in Yorkshire and the North East.

Rob qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1998 and has over 22 years of professional services experience, including 11 years with KPMG where he undertook a leadership role in the Transaction Services practice, initially in the North of England and then in the New York practice.

Having also spent a number of years working in industry in a senior finance role, Rob is uniquely placed to understand the business and commercial risks associated with transactions. During his time in industry Rob was not only involved in transactional support but also post-acquisition integration and process improvement projects.

Both in the UK and the US Rob advised corporate, private equity and hedge fund clients on over 100 deals across a range of industries, including a specialist focus on the financial services sector. Rob has led buy-side diligence, vendor assist, vendor initiated due diligence and public transactions.

Rob’s recent deals has seen him advise: (PE) Graphite Capital, Core Capital, NorthEdge, YFM, BGF, Growth Capital Partners and Mobeus Equity. (Corporates) Clipper Logistics, Castlerock Recruitment, Arrow Business Communications, Boels, SIG, SAS International and tastecard. (Banks) Santander, HSBC, RBS and Shawbrook.
